The first recipient of the Terry Frenz II Scholarship For Trumpet players was Mr. Josh Willett of Alliance, Ohio. A graduate of Marlington High School who is attending Capital University in Columbus, Ohio where he was majoring in Music Education and trumpet performance. Josh had been a long time trumpet student of Terry's and has pursued many of the same goals and dreams, exemplifying the intent of the scholarships.
The second recipient was Mr. J. J. Reinhart from Toledo, Ohio. J.J. was a junior at the University of Cincinnati where he also is a Music Education Major studying to be a band director. J.J. was inspired at a clinic by Terry II when he first appeared as a clinician at UC in 1994.
The third recipient was Miss Melisa Silsby from Cleveland, Ohio who was a student of Terry II and Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 1999.
The fourth recipient was Miss Betsy Swartz from Springfield, Ohio who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2000.
The fifth recipient was Mr. Matt Jackson from Alliance, Ohio who was a student of Terry II and Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2001.
The sixth recipient was Mr. Chris Kannel from Montpillar, Ohio who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2003.
The seventh recipient was Mr. J.C. Heisler from Cleveland, Ohio who was a student of Terry II and Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2005.
The eighth recipient was Mr. Nathan Wiczer from Chicago, Illinois who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2006.
The ninth recipient was Mr. Nathan Wiczer from Chicago, Illinois who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2007.
The tenth recipient was Mr. Matt Anklan from Kettering, Ohio who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2009.
The eleventh recipient was Mr. Matt Anklan from Kettering, Ohio who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2010.
The twelfth recipient was Mr. Joseph Moody from Cincinnati, Ohio who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2011.
The thirteenth recipient was the Bearcat Bands Trumpet Section and was awarded it in 2012.
The fourteenth recipient was Mr. Joseph Moody from Cincinnati, Ohio who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2013.
The fifteenth recipient was Mr. Joseph Herzog from Springfield, Ohio who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2016.
The sixteenth recipient was Mr. Brian Ginn from Batavia, Ohio who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2017.
The seventeenth recipient was Mr. Brian Ginn from Batavia, Ohio who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2018.
The eighteenth recipient was Ms. Megan Ginn from Batavia, Ohio who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2019.
The nineteenth recipient was Ms. Megan Ginn from Batavia, Ohio who was a student of Dr. Frenz Sr. and was awarded it in 2020.
The twentieth recipient was Mr. Andrew Brant from Cincinnati, Ohio who was a student in the UC Band and was awarded it in 2021.
